Snow Removal Information
Please be informed that the Association has contracted with a new snow removal company, in light of the poor service provided by the previous contractor. Effective immediately, the new snow removal company is Blue Sky Landscaping; the phone number is 703-957-3105 and their website is www.blue-skylandscaping.com.
Residents should be informed that plowing service commences upon accumulation of 2 or more inches of snow. The contract does not include shoveling of walks or steps; so please be sure to clear those areas of snow and ice as soon as the weather allows.
When a storm of more than 6 inches is forecasted, we encourage residents with garages to utilize them, to ensure some empty spaces are left, because the crew may need areas to push snow. The crew will do their best to plow in a manner that allows vehicles to get out. If you have any questions on the foregoing, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Thank you for your attention.
Please note that it is each homeowner's responsibility to clear the walkways and driveway in front of their home. Do not use salt or de-icing products containing calcium chloride, as these products can cause damage to concrete surfaces. Residents are urged to remove snow as soon as possible for safety. Try to use snow shovels with rubber tips, since metal snow shovels can also cause damage to concrete surfaces.
State road update: George C Marshall Drive, Dominion Way, and Dominion Drive are state-owned roads and the state is responsible for plowing them. (Note that private plowing is actually restricted.) Residents can call VDOT at 703-383-VDOT or e-mail them at novainfo@vdot.virginia.gov with the location of problem streets.
VDOT will also accept photos of streets via email as visual support for roads that need attention.
