Community Issues

The following are common issues/problems in the community. Please be considerate to your neighbors and help keep our community an attractive place to live.

Marshall High Students If you have any complaints about students loitering on your property please contact Marshall High school (703) 714-5400.  A police officer dedicated to the school is available to resolve issues that arise.
Storage of Trash and Recycling Containers Do not store trash and recycling containers on front porch or side/back of house in common area. In addition, boxes, unused toys, etc. should not be stored within public view.
Pets Per Fairfax County law, all homeowners must clean up after their pets when walking them in the community.  Two doggie stations with trash receptacles, and plastic bags for picking up waste are located on the property.  One station is located at the end of Hutchison Grove Ct near the tot lot.  The second is located within the open grassy area between the houses on Marshall Heights court.
Lamp Pole Lights Maintenance of the lamp pole lights improves security throughout the community. It is the individual homeowner's responsibility to maintain the light in the front of their home. When the bulb goes out, it must promptly be replaced. If the light bulb repeatedly burns out too quickly, it may be necessary to replace the electric eye for the light fixture. The electric eye is located either on the lamp pole or front of the house.
Vehicle Towing by Homeowners When an unauthorized vehicle is parked in an individual homeowner's parking space, that owner has the authority to contact the towing company and have the vehicle removed at the vehicle owner's expense.  Click over to the contacts page for the phone number of the towing company.
Automatic Towing of Vehicles The towing company has the authority to remove any illegally parked vehicle at any time (this includes fire lanes). If this occurs, the vehicle owner will be responsible for paying all expenses.
Non reserved Parking Spaces Vehicles may be parked for no more that 72 hours in a non reserved parking space. After 72 hours, the vehicle will be subject to towing.
